INVICTUS

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

WILlIAM E. HENLEY
"It's so funny how we set qualifications for the right person to love, while at the back of our minds we know that the person we truly love will always be an exception."

"I remember every word you said, okay? I'm not that naive and I'm not that stupid. I've been broken before -- I can deal. I'm not scared of moving on with my life. What I'm scared of is that I'll realize somewhere along the road. . . that you were my life."

"I'm not supposed to love you, I'm not supposed to care, I'm not supposed to live my life wishing you were there, I'm not supposed to wonder where you are and what you do, I'm sorry I can't help it, I fell in love with you."
